Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor best known for playing Theo Huxtable on the hit sitcom 'The Cosby Show,’ has died at the age of 54. Warner drowned on July 20 while swimming at Playa Grande near the town of Cahuita, on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 2:30 pm local time, when a strong current pulled him out to sea. Despite efforts from bystanders and emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Red Cross, Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Police confirmed.
His death was confirmed by a source close to the actor, who said he had been vacationing with family at the time.
