In an exclusive interview with People magazine, actor Charlie Sheen reflected on his tumultuous past as he celebrates his 60th birthday on September 3. Now eight years sober, Sheen is ready to tell his own story in a new memoir, 'The Book of Sheen,’ and a two-part Netflix documentary, 'aka Charlie Sheen,’ which are set to be released on September 9 and 10.

After years of tabloid headlines and public battles with addiction, the actor says he has finally embraced a calmer life and is ready to share his truth. “It's just me, finally telling the stories in the way they actually happened,” he tells the magazine, adding with a dose of humor, “The stories I can remember, anyway.”
