Rosie O'Donnell has revealed she secretly underwent a facelift earlier this year, admitting the cosmetic procedure at age 64 left her struggling with feelings of guilt and contradiction. In a May 25 Substack post, the comedian said the lower deep plane facelift cost “more money than I have ever paid for a car.”
O'Donnell explained that she had long believed cosmetic surgery was a “betrayal” of feminism and aging, but reconsidered her views after losing 23 kg (50 pounds). She also shared that her 13-year-old daughter urged her not to go through with the procedure, warning that “young women look up to you.”
Despite initially feeling conflicted, O'Donnell said she ultimately feels at peace with her decision and believes women should be free to choose whether or not to undergo cosmetic procedures without judgment. Although she said almost no one noticed the subtle changes, the comedian described herself as happy with the results.
