Suzanne Morrison, Matthew Perry’s mother and wife of 'Dateline' correspondent Keith Morrison, is speaking openly about her family’s relationship with Kenneth Iwamasa, the actor’s former assistant. According to the US Department of Justice, Iwamasa repeatedly gave Perry ketamine injections despite having no medical training, including on the day the 'Friends' star died.
Ahead of Iwamasa's sentencing, Morrison wrote a victim impact statement in which she claimed that her family believed Iwamasa understood her son’s struggle with addiction, “but instead of protecting Matthew, he aided and abetted illegal drug taking, arranged for one source of supply, then another,” Perry’s mother wrote, adding, “We trusted a man without a conscience, and my son paid the price.”
Iwamasa’s sentencing is set for May 27, and he could face up to 15 years in prison.
