Tiger Woods has revealed plans to step away from golf and seek treatment after his headline-making DUI arrest in Jupiter, Florida, on March 27.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” the professional golfer shared via X on March 31.
Despite the controversy, Woods has received support from President Donald Trump, the former father-in-law of his girlfriend Vanessa Trump and a longtime friend who shares his passion for golf.
In a phone interview with the New York Post on March 31, President Trump said he had spoken with Woods. “He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain.”
