While speaking on the October 12 episode of Dax Shepard’s ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, Scottish actor James McAvoy opened up about his near-death experience after a medical procedure went wrong back in 2017.
"I had a lung puncture because they saw a shadow in my lung, so they wanted to biopsy it to see if it was cancer, which it wasn’t, which was great," the actor said. "But that was botched, and I nearly died."
McAvoy also said that his lungs collapsed while he was in bed at home one night. Consequently, he had to be hospitalized for "two or three weeks." On top of that, the actor developed an infection and had to undergo a more invasive surgery.
