Ariana Grande has reportedly rekindled things with ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez following her split from ‘Wicked’ costar Ethan Slater after three years of dating. According to Page Six, 33-year-old Grande and Alvarez, 35, are spending time together again, but are taking the relationship “one step at a time.”
Grande and Alvarez first dated from 2015 to 2016 after meeting during her Honeymoon Tour, where he worked as a backup dancer. Reunion rumors began after they were recently spotted together in Austin, Texas, for her birthday and later over the Fourth of July weekend in Florida.
Grande appeared to nod to the rekindled romance during her Eternal Sunshine Tour, changing her ‘Thank U, Next’ lyric about Alvarez to: “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.”
The lyric change sent fans into a frenzy, especially given Alvarez’s long-running place in Grande’s personal and musical history. For many, the moment suggested that one of her past romances may be entering a new chapter.
