Terence Stamp, the British actor best known for playing General Zod in ‘Superman’ (1978) and its sequel, has died at 87, his family confirmed on August 17. Rising to fame in 1960s London, Stamp earned an Oscar nomination for ‘Billy Budd’ (1962) and starred in acclaimed films such as ‘Theorem’ (1968) and ‘The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’ (1994).
