Italy is closer to securing UNESCO recognition for its cuisine after the United Nations’ cultural body gave preliminary approval for the bid.
On November 10, UNESCO recommended adding Italian cuisine to its List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, following a nomination from Italy’s culture and agriculture ministries. The final decision is expected next month.
