US President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order

intended to accelerate the development of psychedelic drugs as medical treatments, specifically the use of ibogaine.

Ibogaine is a powerful, naturally occurring psychoactive alkaloid extracted from the root bark of the Tabernanthe iboga shrub, native to Central and West Africa. The compound has extraordinary potential, demonstrating as it does significant promise for treating opioid addiction, post traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injury.
