Daylight Saving Time (DST) for many countries in the Northern Hemisphere will end at 1 am on Sunday, October 26. In the United States and Canada, the change is scheduled to take effect on November 2, the first Sunday in November, at 2 am.
Europe and the US changed their clocks at the same time up until 2007, when the US elected to start earlier in the spring and later in the fall. This was done in a bid to boost the economy. Economists deciphered that people spent less money on heating and electricity bills and more on outdoor activities when the sun stayed up later.
