Christina Applegate has revealed that she may have been misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), saying she is now struggling to understand the cause of her ongoing health problems. The 'Dead to Me' star broke down in tears during the latest episode of her 'MeSsY' podcast, which she co-hosts with fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
Applegate, who publicly announced her MS diagnosis in 2021, said her doctor recently told her, “Congratulations, you don’t have MS.” However, rather than feeling relieved, she said the news left her feeling as though she was “back at square one.”
Applegate explained that the new information does not mean her symptoms have improved, adding that she feels she has actually gotten worse in some ways. “I don’t know what’s going on with me,” she said, explaining that she had experienced “every symptom of someone with MS” and that her doctors would need to continue investigating.
The actress also admitted feeling as though she had “let everybody down” because she and Sigler had become “poster children for MS.” Sigler reassured her co-host that she had done nothing wrong and had not misled anyone.
