David Bowie’s daughter, Alexandria “Lexi” Jones, revealed she missed her father’s final days in 2016 after being sent to treatment for depression and an eating disorder.
In an Instagram post shared on February 23, the 25-year-old said she was “forcibly removed” from her home as a teenager and placed in multiple treatment centers across the US following what she described as a “breaking point” after Bowie’s cancer diagnosis.
Jones, whose mother is supermodel Iman, said she turned to alcohol and drugs while struggling with her mental health. She recalled being taken to a wilderness therapy program for 91 days, during which Bowie died from liver cancer at age 69. She said she was able to speak to him two days before his death.
