Being married may be associated with a lower risk of developing cancer, this according to a large study analyzing millions of cases and published on April 8 in the journal Cancer Research Communications.

 

Researchers found that never-married individuals face significantly higher risks, especially for cancers linked to lifestyle factors. Experts suggest that social, emotional, and financial support, along with earlier detection and better treatment adherence, may help explain this protective effect.
