Dementia

Bruce Willis’ family first announced in 2022 that he was stepping away from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects communication. In 2023, they later revealed he had frontotemporal dementia, or FTD.

FTD is an umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the brain's frontal and temporal lobes. These areas of the brain are generally associated with personality, behavior, and language.
