Oftentimes, that powder is a protein supplement. With there being many perceived benefits to consuming extra protein, increasing numbers of people are turning to protein powders to supplement their regular dietary intake.
However, as protein supplements grow in popularity, more and more people are asking whether they actually serve any purpose, and even whether they could perhaps be detrimental, rather than beneficial, to our health.
