Sam Neill, best known for his role in the ‘Jurassic Park’ films, died from pneumonia, a representative has confirmed. The actor passed away on July 13 at the age of 78, with his family by his side.
“Sam passed away from pneumonia,” manager Philip Grenz said in a statement, adding that the actor had previously “valiantly fought and beaten lymphoma” through CAR-T therapy. His death was described as sudden, though loved ones noted he had remained cancer-free following treatment for a rare blood cancer diagnosed in 2022.
Neill had continued working in the final year of his life, completing several projects set for release. Known for keeping his private life out of the spotlight, his family said a private memorial would be held in New Zealand.
