Burnout and anxiety in the workplace are reaching alarming levels, with more employees experiencing stress,

taking sick leave, and seeking employer support. A recent global survey by AXA and IPSOS across 16 countries (Belgium, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the UK, and the US) highlights worsening mental health among workers, with financial instability, job insecurity, and constant exposure to negative news as key contributors.

The study reveals that mental health-related sick leave is rising, now accounting for 27% of absences in 2024. Young adults are particularly vulnerable, with 85% affected by stress, anxiety, or depression.
