Research published on May 14 in the Journal of the American Heart Association sheds new light on broken heart syndrome, revealing surprising gender differences in outcomes. While the condition predominantly affects women, new findings show that men are twice as likely to die from it. This cardiovascular condition, also known as takotsubo cardiomyopathy, often follows intense emotional or physical stress.
