Appendix cancer, a rare gastrointestinal malignancy, is rising sharply among Gen Xers and Millennials, according to recent studies. Once considered extremely uncommon, this cancer is now being diagnosed three to four times more often in younger adults than in previous generations.
Though it still affects only about one to two people per million annually, the increasing trend raises concerns. Experts point to lifestyle, environmental, and diagnostic changes as potential contributors, underscoring the need for greater awareness and research.
