Breast cancer cases are expected to exceed 3.5 million by 2050, according to new research. It is the most common cancer among women worldwide.

In wealthy countries, years of investment in screening and treatment have led to a 30% drop in breast cancer deaths from 1990 to 2023. However, in the poorest countries, deaths from breast cancer have nearly doubled during the same time frame, as reported in a recent study published in The Lancet Oncology, on March 2.

In 2023, about 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer globally, leading to 764,000 deaths. Nearly one in four cancers diagnosed in women that year were breast cancer cases.

While the study primarily calls for global health reform, it also provides guidance for individuals looking to reduce their risk of breast cancer, such as dietary changes. In this gallery, read on to discover which dietary changes can be made to improve your chances.
