The controversy began after Kai shared a clip on Instagram showing the pair during the national anthem at Madison Square Garden, prompting critics to claim crowd boos had been removed and replaced with cheers.
The footage was provided by 15 Seconds of Fame, a company that uses AI technology to identify fans appearing on arena and stadium screens and then delivers personalized video clips. In a statement to Page Six, a company spokesperson said the video posted by Kai was “exactly the clip delivered” through its platform and that she “at no time” requested any audio be altered, enhanced, replaced, or manipulated.
