Around 14% of those studying for a bachelor's or master's degree are international students who have opted to go to university in another country. That's according to student accommodation booking platform Amber.
In a survey published in January 2026, Amber listed the 15 cheapest countries for international students to study affordably.
Several factors were taken into consideration when compiling the report, including tuition fees and living costs. While the cost of living can appear high in some countries, everyday expenditure in the majority of these nations remains surprisingly low.
