The population of our planet is growing ever larger, and with it comes the need to build more infrastructure to accommodate the housing and business needs of as many people as possible. This is especially true in the United States, but as cities expand so does the risk that the ground beneath will falter.

Researchers have found that 25 of the 28 largest urban areas in the United States are sinking. While there are a few reasons why this is the case, the consequences can be incredibly disastrous.
