At least nine people were injured in a mass shooting near Indiana University following celebrations for the annual ‘Little 500’ bike race. Police responded to reports of gunfire just before 12:30 a.m. on April 26 in Bloomington, where crowds had gathered after the collegiate track cycling event.
Officers arriving at the scene found multiple victims, all of whom were transported to local hospitals through a combination of ambulances, police vehicles, and private transport. Authorities said one additional person sought treatment nearby with injuries believed to be connected to the incident.
Witnesses reported that the shooting began after a fight broke out between two women in a crowded area. No suspects have been taken into custody, and police say the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine what led to the violence.
