Religion is one of the most personal aspects of human life, shaped by history, geography, trade, and politics. Some regions have become crossroads of faith, while others follow one dominant belief system.
The Pew Research Center conducted a study to measure how evenly various faiths are spread across countries and territories. It uses the Religious Diversity Index (RDI), which looks at seven major religions, including Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism, as well as those who follow no religion at all. A score of 10 would represent a diverse balance, whereas a score near zero indicates near-total religious uniformity.
