Donald Trump is the most golf-obsessed president in US history. But he's not the only US president to seek solace in the clubhouse.
Presidential golf is a bipartisan tradition. Ever since William Howard Taft took to the fairways in the early 20th century, White House incumbents, both Democrats and Republicans, have used the game for leisure, diplomacy, and even political strategy.
This shared passion for golf has to date seen no less than 17 US presidents embrace the sport, some avidly, others with less enthusiasm. But in doing so, they've helped popularize a sport that today is enjoyed by an estimated 48 million people in the United States, according to the National Golf Foundation.
In this gallery, we list all the presidents between Taft and Trump who have, to varying degrees, put golf on the political map. To find out who, click on and tee off.
