Carrara is a name synonymous with some of the finest marble in the world. Quarries located in Italy's Apuan Alps have been yielding this prized raw material since antiquity.

The Romans built their empire using Carrara marble. Michelangelo carved 'David' from a single block of the smooth malleable stone. And even the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. is wrapped in what they call the "white gold of Tuscany."
