Price comparison website Compare the Market recently published its
Pickpocket and Scam Hotspots Around the World 2026 list. The comprehensive study looked at 34 cities worldwide to identify the most notorious destinations for petty crime that might affect you on holiday. The list includes cities renowned for their famous landmarks and fabulous upscale shopping, destinations that frequently record overnight tourist stays numbering in the millions.
In this gallery, we've narrowed down the results to the top 10 cities and listed them in descending order according to their rankings. And among several European hotspots are three American cities.
