There are few symbols that are as instantly recognizable as the rainbow flag of the LGBTQ+ community, but Pride has grown far beyond those familiar six colors. Over the decades, new flags have appeared as different communities looked for ways to make their identities visible.
Some of these designs have become international symbols, while others remain much more specific to particular communities. Their colors are rarely chosen at random, with shapes and colors representing everything from attraction and gender expression to inclusion and racial identity.
