Tropical Storm Rachel brought powerful waves, coastal flooding, and heavy rain to Southern California. The effects of the Pacific Ocean storm were felt from October 9, when big waves and high tides flooded coastal communities.
The worst damage was reported in Long Beach and Newport Beach, where homes and businesses were damaged by the waves and the streets were flooded. Rachel weakened as it moved inland over the weekend.
