They're all middle or low income

Nearly all, 87%, of Australia's heavily-polluted areas are places where the average household income is $2,000 per week or less.
That means that pollution almost never affects earners in the top 40%, according to the Australia Nitrous oxideNitrous oxideConservation Fund's latest study.
