Princess Eugenie recently welcomed her third child, though many were surprised to find out her baby girl was born outside the United Kingdom. But there's a good reason for this.
Eugenie, 36, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, 40, welcomed a daughter on August 3. Buckingham Palace announced the arrival the following day, revealing that the baby was born at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. Unlike her older brothers, Princess Eugenie’s newborn daughter was not delivered in London. The royal previously gave birth to her sons (five-year-old August Philip Hawke and three-year-old Ernest George Ronnie) at the Portland Hospital in London, England.
The reason for this change is rather simple: since 2022, the family has divided their time between Portugal and the UK following a career move for Brooksbank. After serving as a brand ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila company co-founded by George Clooney and Rande Gerber, he took on a new role working with property developer Mike Meldman, one of Clooney’s longtime business associates. Brooksbank is handling marketing, sales, and promotion for the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club in Melides, in Portugal's Grândola municipality, where the royal couple also lives.
Princess Eugenie, meanwhile, continues her work as a director for London’s Hauser & Wirth art gallery.
