It was news that certainly saddened many: Henrietta Mann, a retired Dalhousie University civil engineering professor, predicted that the RMS Titanic will disintegrate into the ocean floor in just under 25 years. Mann's comments came after looking at some of the first-ever 4K images of the ocean liner, and seeing how much it had deteriorated after 14 years.
The
Titanic collided with an iceberg
on April 14, 1912. The
collision
caused the
ship to
sink the following
day, resulting in more than
1,500 people
losing their
lives. The
incident
was one of the biggest
maritime disasters in history.
The narrative is well-known and even inspired an
award-winning
Hollywood movie. But
