A decade of the Dakar Rally in pictures
Take a look at the toughest off-road race on the planet
© Reuters
The 2020 edition of the Dakar Rally is being held in Saudi Arabia, the first time the event has taken place on the Arabian Peninsula. Established in 1978 and previously known as the Paris-Dakar Rally, the annual long-distance off-road encounter is one of the most prestigious—and grueling—motorsport endurance competitions in the world. Held from 2009 to 2019 in South America, the rally's new location is proving just as arduous and again pits some of the best drivers in the world against each other, and the elements.
Browse this gallery and be amazed by this collection of photographs taken over the last 10 years that capture the thrills and spills of the world's biggest and toughest rally.
