Astronomers and dark sky enthusiasts alike are in for a treat this year, including spectacular meteor showers, lunar and solar eclipses, planet conjunctions, and lots of special full moons. Indeed, 2021 is the year to stargaze and enjoy a number of fascinating celestial events.

On November 19, a great part of the Moon was covered, resulting in a Lunar Eclipse which also morphed into a blood moon for more than an hour. It was confirmed to be the longest eclipse in 580 years. The phenomenon was visible from North and South America, Australia, and parts of Asia and Europe.
