Jonathan Andic, son of the late Isak Andic and heir to Mango, has reportedly been arrested in Spain this May 19, in connection with his father’s death during a hiking trip in December 2024. Initially ruled an accident, the case was later reopened as a possible homicide after investigators identified alleged inconsistencies in Jonathan’s account of the fatal fall.
The shocking development has drawn renewed attention to one of the rarest and most disturbing forms of violent crime: parricide. Defined as the killing of one’s parent, parricide is considered the least common type of homicide, according to a 2019 study. Its rarity may help explain why such cases often attract intense public attention.
