Grammy-nominated singer Jubilant Sykes was found stabbed to death inside his Santa Monica home on December 8. Police say his 31-year-old son, Micah Sykes, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Authorities recovered a weapon, though the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Officers had responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress. Paramedics pronounced Sykes dead at the home after discovering him with critical stab wounds.
Sykes, 71, was widely respected in the classical music world. He earned a Grammy nomination in 2010 for ‘Bernstein: Mass,’ in which he performed the Celebrant role.
