Since nudge theory was popularized in 2008 by scholars Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein, it has pervaded many areas of our lives. It has applications in government, business, health care, and even fundraising.
As a concept, nudge theory is not too tricky to grasp. The basic idea is that by shaping the environment of an individual or group, it is possible to influence their decision-making.
Nudge theory has many applications in our daily lives, but it is not without its problems. Indeed, there are critics who question its morality, in addition to its effectiveness.
