The pros and cons of a real vs. artificial Christmas tree

When it comes to celebrating the holidays, it is very much a case of 'to each their own.' We all have our preferences, and one family's traditions may differ wildly from another's. One topic that very much still divides people on Christmas, though, is whether to have a real or artificial tree. On the one hand, real trees are more authentic and a good way to support the local economy. On the other hand, artificial trees are much more convenient and are probably cheaper in the long run. And, of course, there are environmental arguments for both.
