A first-world problem is usually experienced by people in wealthy nations. These are often trivial things that, in the absence of more serious problems (e.g. poverty, hunger, homelessness, etc.), are seen as annoyances. These are also referred to as “rich people’s problems,” though you don’t necessarily have to be rich to experience such problems. The point is, abundance sometimes makes us lose perspective and our sense of gratefulness for what we have. Still, these are very real problems... or are they?
