A senior Hamas official said the group will reject the latest US-backed ceasefire and hostage deal.
On May 29, the White House said Israel had agreed to US envoy Steve Witkoff’s plan and was waiting for Hamas' response. Israeli media reported the deal would involve Hamas releasing 10 living hostages and the remains of 18 others in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas said the proposal fails to meet key demands, including a full end to the war, and that it will issue a formal response soon.
