More than one million Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru Solterra vehicles have been recalled in the US due to a software error that can cause the rearview camera to freeze or display a blank screen while reversing, federal regulators announced on November 5.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said the issue affects 2022–2026 models equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor system, posing an increased risk of crashes. Affected vehicles include popular Toyota models such as the RAV4, Highlander, and Camry Hybrid, as well as Lexus RX and GX models.
Dealers will update the parking assist software free of charge. Interim owner notifications are set to be mailed starting December 16, 2025.
