Harry Styles has drawn backlash over artwork on a concert ticket for his New York City residency at Madison Square Garden. The ticket, shared online for his September 9 show, appeared to show a yellow car flying over the Empire State Building and leaving a trail across the landmark’s spire.
The timing caused criticism because the image surfaced just days before the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Some fans called the design insensitive, questioning how it was approved during a week of remembrance in New York City.
Styles is currently in the middle of a 30-night Madison Square Garden residency as part of his Together, Together tour, with shows running between August 26 and October 31. Page Six said it had reached out to his representatives for comment.
The September 11 attacks took place in 2001, when hijacked planes were flown into New York’s Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 people. More than two decades later, the tragedy remains deeply sensitive, especially in New York City.
