Renowned Sherpa guide Kami Rita set a new record on May 27 by reaching the summit of Mount Everest for the 31st time, surpassing his own previous achievement on the world’s tallest peak.
At 55 years old, Kami Rita led a group of climbers to the summit early in the morning, according to Mingma Sherpa from the Kathmandu-based Seven Summits Treks. He was reported to be in good health and was descending with the team back to base camp.
