One hundred years ago, a trial took place in a Tennessee courthouse that ended up as one of the most notorious in US legal history. In July 1925, a high school teacher was accused of teaching evolution contrary to a state law banning the subject. What happened next was effectively a confrontation between those who believed in the biblical account of creation and those who agreed with Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection. And it's an argument that's still being discussed today.
