US President Donald Trump once again did not rule out the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House, despite the 22nd Amendment prohibiting it.
Speaking aboard Air Force One en route to Tokyo on October 27, a reporter referenced recent comments from Trump ally Steve Bannon, who said last week, “He’s going to get a third term. Trump is going to be president in ‘28 and people ought to just get accommodated with that.” Trump responded, "I’m not sure if anybody would run again. I think if they ever formed a group, it would be unstoppable, I do. I really believe that. I would love to do it. I have my best numbers ever.”
His comments have fueled the ongoing debate over whether he will attempt to extend his presidency beyond its intended four-year term. A recent survey shows that over half of Americans believe he will try.
