Israel-Palestine

On July 21, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that Israeli forces struck its staff residence and main warehouse in Deir al-Balah, southern Gaza. The attacks caused fires, extensive damage, and forced women and children to flee on foot. Four staff and family members were detained by Israeli troops, with one still in custody. The WHO called for their immediate release and condemned the targeting of humanitarian facilities.

The strikes come as Gaza’s health system collapses under siege, with mass casualties, extreme shortages of medical supplies, and growing fears of starvation. Health officials have warned of potential “mass deaths” as fuel, food, and medicine run out. The UN has warned of a total breakdown in humanitarian conditions, urging Israel to allow life-saving aid into the territory.
