Europe

Europeans are achieving higher levels of education than ever before, with women leading the trend in most countries. According to Eurostat’s latest data, the share of adults (25–74) with tertiary education rose from 26% in 2014 to 33.5% in 2024. Among young adults (25–34), the rates are even higher. The data includes both EU and non-EU countries, revealing significant variation across the continent.

What's more, generational and gender divides show shifting attitudes, with younger Europeans and women increasingly more likely to attain higher education, signaling a broader transformation in educational attainment and priorities across Europe.
