Did you know that at any given time, there are about 2,000 thunderstorms happening? In those storms, there are 100 lightning strikes every single second, amounting to about eight million lightning strikes per day. According to the Royal Meteorological Society, rising temperatures will only increase the prevalence of strikes. A mere increase of one degree will result in an uptick of about 7% more moisture, greatly augmenting the likelihood of thunderstorms occurring.
